FAST800 Week Two

Welcome back.
I've just finished week two of  FAST800

WEEK TWO DAY ONE (Monday)

Today I had a bit of a sugar craving - probably due to the sugary dessert I had yesterday, even if it was only a small amount. I struggled slightly in the morning so I had my black tea with a little sweetener to help kick it quickly and give myself a little sweetness.
I kept myself busy around the house as well, busy week here with it being the last week of school and the big kids birthday party happening this week too. This helped to keep my mind off my cravings.
around 3 pm I ate my lunch - some salad and 2 boiled eggs. I really enjoy the freshness of this! I had already boiled the eggs so was a very simple and quick lunch to do. Topped, of course, with a twist of salt and lots of pepper. I always have a cup of tea and a fresh big bottle of water with it.
Dinner was a little more difficult. Dale was home late and I wanted to wait and eat with him so I fed the kids and waited. the feeding the kids part wasn't hard it was when I started to get extremely bloated and gall stones symptoms started to happen. Thankfully he came home just as I was getting my food sorted (I couldn't wait any longer) Food wise it was great. It was leftovers so on my plate there was a veggie burger, carrot and parsnip mash, leeks, peas, cauliflower and broccoli. It was very yummy.
Unfortunately, the gallstones were not being nice to me and I ended up coming to bed, in pain, with a peppermint tea and peppermint capsules - let's hope tomorrow is better.

*If you have gall stones you will know the pain that I was experiencing - How awful it is.  I have found that it is worse than childbirth, I don't know about you but that is painful!!! I am hoping it doesn't happen again.

WEEK TWO DAY TWO (Tuesday)
Today I was so busy I almost forgot to eat (and take pictures)
I kept busy with cleaning the house and My Little Honee Bee that I didn't have time to do anything else (and yes that includes eating)
I managed to get some carrot and coriander soup in the midst of the kids being around my feet, and finishing off some parts of my project.
DInner I thought was lovely, I made Beef Ragu Fettuccini (although I had it without the pasta) It is filled with vegetables. Dale isn't a fan of courgette and I forgot this so next time I would switch this out. The beef was perfect, melt in your mouth beef and with the tomato and vegetable sauce, it was just perfect. I didn't have any other courgette to spiralize it so I went with quinoa and a handful of salad.
It was lovely, hitting the spot. The leftovers are in the freezer for me to enjoy another time.
It wasn't a hard day thanks to being busy but I think if I hadn't been busy I would have wanted to pick.

FAST800 WEEK TWO DAY THREE (Wednesday)

Another busy morning yesterday getting things sorted around the house. I enjoy the busy morning, especially with how peckish I've been feeling the past few days.

Dale brought me home a vegan subway salad - It was really delicious. I am not a vegan (my food clearly shows that) but I tried this salad once before and I really enjoyed it and was glad to get another one.

In the evening I had more salad - by this point, I wasn't overly hungry (mainly because it was quite late that I had my lunch) so salad, egg mayo and quinoa.

I did well (I think) and hoping for more successful days

WEEK 2 DAY 4 FAST800 (Thursday)
So yesterday was difficult. This is because it was Jonathan‘s birthday party and there was yummy nibbles sitting out that I have to admit I did take some. So I had four cookies and a handful of sweeties. I did also eat well yesterday.
For my lunch I had to boiled eggs with a tablespoon of light mayonnaise. To accompany this I had three corn thins. I had already boiled the eggs so it was a very quick lunch to throw together. It is filling and it is very yummy so I would really recommend that you boil some eggs and keep them in the fridge for whenever you need a really quick lunch.
For me with the party yesterday it was very difficult because of the fact there was so much stuff to eat but I was also very impressed with myself that I didn’t eat as much as I wanted. Sometimes in order to stop ourselves from over eating rubbish food we should maybe allow ourselves to eat a little bit of it so we get the taste and we enjoy that but we don’t overdo it.
For dinner I had it while it was gorgeous I had cauliflower rice and I had Tandoori chicken. That was it I didn’t feel that I needed anything else I got myself a massive bottle of water and I drank that and I had no need for anything else. I am a bit disappointed that I did eat something that I shouldn’t of eaten or not shouldn’t that I didn’t need to eat but I’m not going to beat myself up about it and I’m going to continue and do my best.

WEEK TWO DAY FIVE FAST800

After of not so good day on Thursday Friday was not too bad. We ended up going to Belfast for the day and it was absolutely beautiful the weather was gorgeous. Because it was so good we decided that we would eat at Belfast City Hall so Dale got some food from McDonald’s for the kids and I had the grilled chicken and bacon salad. they had run out of balsamic dressing so it was a plain salad with plain chicken and two little bits of bacon so it wasn’t very bad. I would have liked to have a balsamic dressing as I really do think that it helps it.

When I’m in Belfast I like to go into the frozen yoghurt shop we don’t have it where I live and it’s a lovely little treat to have I also enjoy the fact that it’s not full of calories like ice cream and I go for the non-dairy version. Today I had the non-dairy coconut frozen yoghurt with Kiwi, strawberries and cashew nuts and I then had a probably about a teaspoon and a half of chocolate sauce on top and it was beautiful to enjoy that in the sun.

Dinner was absolutely gorgeous I had struggled with what I was going to eat and I remembered I had bought frozen cod fillets and had put them in my freezer so I took one of them and that was for my dinner. I cooked it with half a teaspoon of coconut oil and seasoned it for and it would cook for 20 to 25 minutes. To go with it I made some cauliflower rice and I also cooked some frozen leaks and string beans and they were gorgeous. I even use the little bit of sauce that came from the fish when it cooks and I drizzled over the cauliflower and my vegetables and just together it felt like summer on a plate and that is just absolutely perfect when the weather outside is so warm. I would recommend trying to eat for the season I think it helps to keep you motivated and helps you to feel fresh and alive.

FAST800 WEEK TWO DAY SIX (Saturday)

When I go to get my nails done on a Saturday morning I am always the first appoint and I bring myself and my friend a latte. This time I didn’t, I got her the usual and myself a black tea.  I did put really miss the sweetness that much (although it would have been lovely) I was aware that it would really affect my stomach at the minute and cause pains but also be unnecessary for me to have.  The hot tea was just th ticket.

I wasn’t going to have any lunch as my eldest and I were heading out to an award ceremony in the evening and I didn’t know what type of food we would be having there. I’m glad I did eat something though as it helped to keep the hunger pangs and noises away.  I made myself a lovely ham salad and used a new dressing that I had ordered from Tesco. It was lemon and pepper - I would recommend that you don’t over use the dressing as I have a feeling it could be quite overpowering. Anyway the salad was perfect because ...

The evening food was a disaster for someone like me who is keeping an eye on what they are eating not only for weight loss purposes but also to avoid the flare up of th gall stones symptoms,  it was greasy vol-au-vonts, fried chips, chicken and cocktail sausages as well as mayo laden sandwiches and cupcakes. I did have a small plate and was still hungry but I knew if I ate anymore that the reprocussions would be a disaster. As it was before we even left the hotel I was already experiencing pain.  I knew then that Sunday was not going to be great.

WEEK TWO DAY SEVEN FAST800 (Sunday)

Yup I knew it - today I was in pain for most of the day ... by most I really mean all.  It started off just a dull pain and then it got more intense until the evening.
As is the norm I don’t have breakfast just some tea and water, and this has been my routine to for longer than what I have been doing FAST800 so I didn’t really have to get used to it that much. It’s the day that we go to church so I wasn’t even tempted by food in the slightest. We were having people over for lunch after church so I made a really yummy bolognese sauce that was stuffed full of vegetables and you wouldn’t even know it... no seriously you wouldn’t. The kids ate mushrooms, carrots, peppers and onions and they weren’t aware of it.

Instead of having it with pasta I had mine with courgettie and it was extremely yummy. I have a special spirilizer machine to make my own so used one courgette for myself while everyone else had pasta. I didn’t miss the pasta at all. I did have a couple slices of garlic bread (I didn’t realise that it’s actually vegan so no diary - WIN)
Dessert was cherry pie and custard for the adults and ice cream and sweets for the kids.  I did let have the pie or custard, or the ice cream for that matter but I did have a handful of sweets with a couple of cups of tea and lots of water too.
In the evening at church I had a 1/2 of a caramel square (it was a very small on so ended up being a small bite) and ... MORE TEA 😂😂😂

The results from week two are as follows :-

Not as much as week one but still great results! And you have to remember there are days in there that the food wasn’t on point as much as I would have liked.  Hoping for slightly better this week although I do have my birthday on Thursday and people coming on Saturday and Sunday! Well, I can’t say I don’t like a challenge
