Tired? Me Too.

This week I have been battling with feelings of tiredness.  We all have times that our bodies are just plodding along. We struggle with everyday tasks.
This week I found it hard to get out of bed, I am a person who jumps out of bed and goes for it, getting up and doing my workout before Master Fairy gets out of bed ... that didn't happen everyday this week as i got more tired.

So I decided to look up different ways that can help combat with fatigue - this is what I found (tell me what you think)

First things first ... you should be sleeping for at least 7 - 9 hours a night

It is recommended that you eat little and often rather than large meals less often (but you need to make sure that you keep your calories under control as this could become a problem)

Exercising, this may seem a little weird for those of you who don't work out.  At the beginning you may find that you feel drained.  In the long run, however, your energy levels will definitely improve and increase which then transfers over to fatigue levels.
why not try a fast 15 minute walk to get the blood pumping and to wake you up?
Tit-Bit - start small and build on that, dont jump in and do a marathon straight away, it takes time.

This one I'm not surprised at - losing weight, the bulk that you carry round with you is exhausting.

better ideal weight body   - by Moose and Doc -  this is based on peoples choice and based on BMI

One thing I will stress about BMI is that it doesn't take everything into account.  It is based solely on the height and weight of a person, it is inaccurate when dealing with body fat content.  It does NOT take into account a persons muscle mass (remember that muscle takes up less space that fat does), doesnt understand the bone density of a person or the overal body compostion.  Also a persons BMI doesnt note the race or sex difference of the person.

These things noted above are so important (and I know this is a tangent but it is an important one that people forget about) BMI is only a guideline, it is not something to be stuck to.

Back to fatigue ....

You need to sleep well to get rid of fatigue, I know it's one of those things that you think 'well, duh!' but some people are not getting enough sleep and so there body craves more shut eye.  If you find it hard to get over to sleep a hot 20 minute bath can help, some warm milk ... or those work papers you are supposed to read will help put you to sleep quicker than anything else !?!

Reducing stress is another way to boost energy and stop fatigue,  think of some relaxing activities that you can do - listen to some music, singing, playing an instrument, reading a good book, spending time with your friends - find something that helps you to relax and do it.

Talking therapies are a new thing to come out and help with fatigue.  They are being researched as to how, I believe it is because they offer a stress release.  They enable you to go and discuss what is bothering you, to talk about what is causing an incongruency within you and it allows you to explore why this is the case and you are then provided with ways in which to help yourself.  One thing I think is important within talking therapies, is that the participant is the one who actually make the discovery of how to help themselves.  They are able through questions to really think the situations through and gain an understanding of what will help them in the long run.  (can you tell this is my end goal - to be a therapist ??)

I like to talk (I'm sure you can guess that) I'd love to talk to you why not make an appointment to skype me?
Go to this website and book your slot now.  It's free and you get to talk to me!! what could be better?

some simple things that you could adopt in your daily routine are
-cut out caffine
- reduce the amount of alcohol you consume
and a biggy
- DRINK MORE WATER.

To be honest I'm doing most of these things i have mentioned so why am I feeling fatigued? I can tell you why. Zoladex.  It is a side effect of my hormone medication, but that doesnt mean I'm not going to continue to fight it.  It is important for our bodies to keep pushing through and rest when needed - yup today I went for a little nap to just get over a little of the sleepiness that I was feeling.

Don't forget to love your body enough to know when it's telling you that you need a rest - Your body needs to repair and heal.

What are you guys gonna try this week to combat your fatigue?
Maybe an extra rest day?
maybe a gentle stretch day?

remember be safe
