Hanging Up the Training Gear For Surgery
Yup ... I said it.
IM HANGING UP THE TRAINING GEAR!!!
Why? Some of you may not know that Monday is D-day for me ...
Im having a myomectomy ... What this is is surgery for when you have fibroids.
A fibroid is a non-cancerous tumor of muscle and fibrous tissues which are found majority of the time in the wall of the womb.
Fibroids have not so pleasant side effects or symptoms such as

Fibroids have not so pleasant side effects or symptoms such as
- heavy periods which can be very painful
- stomach pain
- lower back pain
- needing to pee A LOT!!!
- constipation
- pain/ discomfort during intimacy
- they can also cause problems with fertility and pregnancy
I believe that the reason i have fibroids is due to my weight. It is not very common for women under the age of 30 to have them and being overweight or obese increases the level of the oestrogen hormone which 'feeds' fibroid growth.
there are three areas that fibroids can grow
- intramural fibroids (most common)
- subserosal fibroids
- submucosal fibroids
That was just a brief overview of what fibroids are.
I will be unable to do my HIIT workouts until after the new year ... but don't worry I will be asking the surgeon when I can start walking. Not outside but on the treadmill in the gym. I don't want to lose my mojo and I think that if I walk in the gym I will keep myself in the right frame of mind to get back on to it properly when given the all clear.
Who would have thought that I, the Fairy Godmother, would be concerned about when I would be able to train again. - HUGE!!!!! For those of you who have only started to read this blog you may want to read

My motivation for keeping myself on track even though it will be Christmas ....
